2016 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Barbour County finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 0-10 record. Last year Barbour County finished seventh in Class 3A region two with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. No team at Barbour County ever lost more games in a season than the ten they lost last year. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Barbour County averaged scoring just 11.1 points a game. The Jaguars also struggled on the defensive side of the football as they found little success in stopping opposing offenses and allowed an average of 44.0 points a game. The Jaguars would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 0-20 record. Since 2010, Barbour County has gone a combined 23-40. Their 36.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 2A over the past six seasons. Over the past 16 seasons, Barbour County has not won much with a record of 49-115. Their 30.0% winning percentage ranks 50th in Class 2A and 345th in the AHSAA. The Jaguars have struggled on the football field with only four winning seasons during this time. The Jaguars are led by head coach Chris Reynolds who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 0-20 over the past two seasons at Barbour County. The Jaguars have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Reynolds. The Barbour County Jaguars will play in Class 2A region two during the 2016 season. The Jaguars may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 3A to 2A. They will compete in region two this year. The Jaguars enter the 2016 season in the middle of a 23 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. It will be an uphill battle for the Jaguars if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season. The Jaguars open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Randolph County on Friday, August 26 at Hulond Humphries Stadium. Last year the Randolph County Tigers finished with an overall record of 13-1 and in first place in Class 2A region five. The Tigers lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 2A playoffs to Fyffe by a score of 20-17. Barbour County and Randolph County have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Jaguars have a 0-2-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in with | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
